Mundo gadis

Infinitely sacrified, infinitely benevolent, infinitely folkloric, the grandmother is a vessel onto which hegemonic narratives can be projected at will. The work, with the generation of fake grandmas, stems from the notion of leaving real grandmothers alone.

Digital video made from 40 images generated by a DCGAN trained with 5.000 images of women. Audio extracted from APOI (Arquivo do Patrimonio Oral da Identidade do Museo do Pobo Galego).
